NH Mensa 2021 Regional Gathering Cancelled

Strange Times, Tough Decisions

I'm sorry to have to write this post today, but I am announcing the cancellation of the 2021 NH RG. ExComm made this difficult decision at our December meeting last night. We had been holding out hope that things would improve, but right now that's not happening. NH is experiencing a surge with (currently) no end in sight, as are many of our surrounding states. In many cases travel restrictions are in place as well. All indications are that we are all going to be experiencing some pretty dark times in the next few months. Yes, vaccines are starting to roll out, and that's great, but even best estimates don't have that being completed until the June/July timeframe.

Our primary concern is the health and safety of our members, volunteers and guests. We can't even come close to guaranteeing that right now. We will be back in 2022 with all of the things that make the NH RG special for those of us who congregate here at the End of the Universe.

Please stay safe and healthy!

p.s. I will be reaching out to those of you who pre-registered for the 2021 RG to figure out how you want us to handle your registration.

Mensa 2020 Annual Gathering Cancelled

Strange Times, Tough Decisions

It is with great sadness but also some relief that we have announced the cancellation of the 2020 Annual Gathering in Kansas City, Mo. This is the first time in our history we have had to take this step. We have had an AG every year since the first North America Mensa Annual Gathering in 1963.

There’s great sadness because we will all miss seeing our friends and family from across the country, as well as the hugs, camaraderie, great speakers, and more. Please join me in commending Tabby Vos and her AG Committee for their great efforts preparing for this event.

DO YOU NEED FABRIC FOR MASKS?

NHM has several dozen t-shirts left over from past RGs. Now that CDC guidelines have changed to recommend that we all wear fabric masks when leaving our homes, we are happy to offer them to our members & friends who may not have anything already around your home with which to make masks.

They currently live at my house in Bow. Please PM me, email me or call/text the number below if you need one or more shirts. I can package them in zip-loc bags and leave them on my front porch for pick-up. I can also mail/ship to you although I may have to ask you to reimburse the postage/shipping cost (like many, I have no income coming in at this point).

Here is a link to CDC instructions for several mask options, including no-sew. Of course, there are many other patterns our there as well.
Face Masks

Everyone, please do the best you can to stay safe and help everyone else stay safe!
